If you center on your goals in lieu of establishing long-term habits, you may only feel a brief sense of success. However, forming a daily routine helps you discover longstanding success one day at a time. Remember goals define what you do.  Habits define how you get there. Here are 5 habits to add in your daily routine to help build your real estate business:


1. PLAN FOR TOMORROW, TONIGHT

Try setting up your daily schedule the night before to arrange things from tomorrow. When you wake up, your objectives will be in sight. If you’re a morning person, this daily habit can help you attack your most troublesome or demanding projects early. This habit can also help keep you on task instead of spending most of your time and energy on mindless items.

Before bed, make your plans for the next day, being as precise as possible. You can even include names and phone numbers of prospects in your schedule. Place these plans on your desk, so you can start working first thing.


2. BE THANKFUL; BE GRATEFUL

Successful and happy people start every morning grateful for what they have. Exercising appreciation makes you grateful for what you’ve already accomplished in your profession and life so you will have more long-term happiness from your success.

Habits aid in your growth as a person, and showing appreciation can help develop your confidence. If you note and reflect on the reasons you’re grateful, you’ll have a more positive outlook on life. Being more grateful can also help you sleep better and practice more kindness.


3. SET REALISTIC GOALS

Setting clear goals can help you form long-term habits that can lead to success. As you put your action items on your list, think about plan to success. It helps to have goals for prospecting, generating contacts and keeping track of your listings. You will want to make your goals realistic and achievable so that you can complete them on time. However, you should always have a few long term goals to keep you from getting idle. Put your goal list eye level and somewhere you can see it throughout the day to keep from avoiding it.


4. PROSPECT EVERYDAY

When you establish a habit of daily prospecting, you take the guesswork out of your schedule. Daily prospecting leads to  a healthy sales pipeline with a steady flow of clients. Starting this profitable habit lets you to track touch-points that produce a usable client base.

 Set yourself a daily scheduled block to call possible sellers and follow up with your potential buyers and clients. 


5. NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK

When you develop the habit of networking, you constantly look for new opportunities to meet people. Even during COVID, there are plenty of chances to meet with probable clients and other real estate professionals throughout the day. It may not feel comfortable at first, but with practice, you’ll be networking without thinking about it.

When you speak with a potential client or colleague, it helps to dive into the conversation with an open mind and a focus on how you can help the person you are speaking with and less on how to help yourself. You may stumble at first, but remember that talking to them can help you grow in your career. You may help someone sell their property, or you might get real estate advice from a professional with more experience than you.
