5 More Habits to Improve your Success in Real Estate in 2021

1. BECOME PART OF YOUR COMMUNITY

As a real estate agent, it helps to be aware of local events coming up  in your community. Part of your job is staying ahead of  marketing trends and keeping up with communities in the area. If someone were to ask you about the local market, you should have a couple current listings you know about. . When you’re aware of the community, prospective clients are more likely to remember you when they’re ready to buy or sell a property.

Besides, you want the community to know you. Get involved in a local charity or sponsor a youth sports team. When your community identifies you as a reliable agent, you’re more likely to increase your client base.


2. SOCIAL MEDIA TARGETED ADS

Targeted ads on social media can help engage clients in your ideal demographic. Your ads can include posting some of your listings on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Make sure to invest in eye-catching photos and videos that your target audience’s will notice and find appealing. The ad may bring your audience to your property website or social media profile, but the page should have a direct call to action. Whether you pay for targeted ads or not, you should make sure to  establish an online presence by posting something about your business at least once a week.


3. CREATE A FITNESS ROUTINE

Exercise helps you release stress and maintain energy throughout the day. If the idea of spending your only time between house showings doing demanding activities intimidates you, try fitting a short 10-minute exercise into your schedule instead. Getting some fresh air at some point in the day can help you clear your mind and brainstorm more effectively. Including a walk, yoga or strength training routine in your daily schedule can help you make healthier food choices and boost your self-confidence. Additionally investing in a gym membership, also doubles as a networking opportunity for meeting potential clients.


4. MANAGE YOUR TIME SUCCESSFULLY

As a real estate agent AND small business owner you are responsible tons of tasks every day. Some of those tasks include finances, dealing with prospective clients, keeping up with trends and continued education. Completing all the items on your daily schedule requires you to manage your time effectively.  Phone apps are a great way to set your schedule every night or add appointments on the spot. Make sure you set realistic expectations as you meet with clients and set goals for the day.  It also helps to have your to-do list in a visual place to remind you what you’re supposed to do at any given time.


5. INVEST IN CONTINUED EDUCATION

The top real estate agents know that they will continue learning throughout their entire career. Once you develop a student’s mindset, you’ll realize that you can succeed with the right education. You don’t need to go back to school or get more licenses to learn more about the real estate industry. Instead, you can take online courses and listen to podcasts. You may want to reach out to your local real estate board to see if they offer courses. Since real estate classes tend to focus on the market, you can learn more about current trends. It also helps to attend yearly seminars and conferences to connect with new networking partners.
